About Us

 

Dr. Heathcote is a licensed clinical psychologist and specializes in family/child psychology. She can be reached at 480-275-2249 or dr.astrid@cox.net.

 Visiting a psychologist does not need to be uncomfortable or intimidating and should give you hope for improvement at your first visit. Your child's/family's comfort and privacy is of utmost importance to me. Please feel free to call or e-mail for questions, I welcome input and /or referrals from other professionals.

Dr. Heathcote's vitae: I received my B.A. in liberal arts, magna cum laude, with an honor's curriculum major and thesis (A Personal Project Analysis of the Type A, Coronary Prone, Behavior Pattern) in psychology at Arizona State University in 1988 and my doctorate in clinical psychology, with high distinction, at the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology in 1998; my dissertation title is: "Coping with Multiple Sclerosis: A Translation and Study of the Zurich Coping Questionnaire". I completed graduate- and post graduate training at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis in the Department of Neurology, Minneapolis Public Schools (child study lab for teen mothers in high school, and Tempe Elementary School District in Arizona,  with a focus on pediatric psychological evaluation, diagnosis and treatment I am a fellow member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Arizona Psychological Association. I have many years experience working with high conflict families focusing on a child's best interest. I also have extensive experience in the psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of numerous psychiatric/psychological disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety) and a particular interest in autism spectrum disorders.

Contracted Provider for Aetna, BCBS,  ASU and PHCS.

Free 10 min. phone consultation
Psychotherapy: (Individual/Family/Couple's) $200 per hour*

Psychological Evaluations
: $200 per hour*
Parent Coaching: $200 per hour* (in home available)
*treatment hours are in 45min increments

Ahwatukee Psychological Services is located at 13838 S. 46th Place, Suite #325 in Phoenix (Ahwatukee).
Take the Ray Rd. exit off I-10, take a right to 46th Pl., and you will see the Ray Rd. Medical Center to your right, across from Mervyn's.
