I am Dr. Astrid Heathcote; I completed my B.A. in psychology, magna cum laude, and an honors thesis (Type A Behavior Pattern and Heart Disease) at Arizona State University in 1988 and my docorate in clinical psychology at the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology in 1998 (Dissertation: Coping with Multiple Sclerosis).
I have trained at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis in the department of neurology
, Minneapolis Public schools, and Tempe Elementary School District with a focus on psychological assessment and treatment for a variety of mental health concerns with a diverse group of children and adults. Most recently, I have completed continued educational training at the Mayo Clinic, the Erickson Foundation, Barrow Neurological institute, and the Ben Franklin Institute.
I have a professional interest in assisting children and adults with autism-spectrum disorders, using current international research.
I also have extensive experience in working with high conflict couples and divorce or post-divorce issues involving children.
