Dr. Astrid Heathcote is specializing in clinical psychology, trained to diagnose and treat a wide spectrum of clinical mental health concerns. She maintains a private practice in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Heathcote completed her B.A. in psychology, magna cum laude, at the Barret Honor's College at Arizona State University. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology (dissertation title: "Coping with Multiple Sclerosis, translation and factor analysis of the Zurich Coping Questionnaire").
Dr. Heathcote completed post-graduate training at Minneapolis Public Schools, Tempe Elementary School District and Hennepin County Medical Center. Recent training sites include Barrow Neurological Instintute in Phoenix, Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Erickson Institute, University of Edinburgh, Summit for Clinical Excellence, Arizona Association for Play Therapy, and the EMDR Institute.
With nearly 20 years experience as psychologist, Dr. Heathcote is always eager to learn well-researched methods, she is currently serving as private clinician working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression, and ADHD.
In addition to being a prominent clinician, Dr. Heathcote has presented at National conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of depression, anxiety, autism and motivation.
Dr. Heathcote is a cognitive behavioral therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal issues. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
